Other agents say I'm crazy because I don't take every listing that comes my way. The prevailing wisdom is that listings lead to buyers. And while it may be true that this practice is beneficial to the agent, it may not always be in the best interest of the client. There are just too many opportunities for conflicts of interest, in my opinion. One common pitfall is dual agency- when the agent or broker represents both buyer and seller.
My area of expertise is helping buyers and sellers in my area (Anthem, Tramanto, Desert Foothills), and I cannot give them my full attention if I'm also managing listings all over the valley. I'm also selective in the listings I take. If I don't think I can sell it, I don't accept the listing. So what do you do if you're selling a home out of my area? Simple! I've put together a network of agents that excel in getting homes sold all over the valley! I've done my homework and have found good people who share my ethical standards and beliefs. Some work for huge international brokers, while others are "niche" agents. Some are relocation specialists. I will listen to your particular needs and wishes, and refer you to the agent that best fits those needs. It's simple, it's smart, and it's the right thing to do!
